A new report of British intelligence highlights Russian efforts to build defensive installations on the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russian troops.
The intelligence specifically mentions the structures that Russia has started to erect around the occupied town of Mariupol. Two facilities manufacture “dragon’s teeth,” or reinforced concrete pyramidal anti-tank structures, for this use.
These buildings were most likely put in place between Mariupol and the Donetsk area villages of Stary Krym and northern Mariupol and the settlement of Nikolske.
According to intelligence, Russia is fortifying its positions throughout the occupied area, including the regions of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. Wagner PMC owner Yevgeny Prigozhin said on October 19, 2022, that a “Wagner line” will be built in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region.
This action indicates that Russia is making serious preparations for a highly layered defense behind its front line, which would probably stop a quick Ukrainian army advance in the case of a breakthrough.
