120 anti-aircraft guns, training, and winter equipment – the British Prime Minister Sunak vowed to help Ukraine with more weapons and assistance.
During his visit to Kyiv, the British Prime Minister promised Ukraine support until victory in the war with the Russian invaders. He also explained what aid the UK will provide shortly.
Rishi Sunak stated this at a briefing in Kyiv on November 19. This is the first visit of the new head of the British government to Ukraine.
What military help Mr. Sunak promised Ukraine
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom recalled that in 2022 alone, Great Britain provided Ukraine with military assistance worth 3 billion pounds ($3.5 billion).
“We will continue to help while you put pressure on Russian troops, while your infrastructure, your homes are being destroyed”, – Sunak said.
The British Prime Minister announced new assistance to Ukraine:
- 120 special anti-aircraft guns;
- training for military doctors and engineers;
- winter equipment for the military;
- humanitarian aid worth over 16 million pounds.
“It will be a great honor for us to host next year’s conference on rebuilding Ukraine”,- the British Prime Minister said.
Rishi Sunak said he hoped that Ukrainians would be able to end this barbaric Russian war and ensure a just peace where there will be the rule of law, peace, and respect for the state’s sovereignty. He also expressed hopes that those who committed war crimes will be brought to justice.
Rishi Sunak also noted that the Ukrainian people are paying with blood for the freedom of Ukraine. He also said that together they will ensure that in the future our state will have glory and freedom, as it is said in our anthem.
Rishi Sunak’s visit to Kyiv
On November 19, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in Ukraine for the first time since he became Prime Minister on October 25.
