Cruise missile with Russian inscriptions fell in Poland

An unidentified air-to-surface missile was discovered close to Bydgoszcz (a city in northern Poland). It had Russian writing on it, according to RMF FM.

The object discovered in a woodland a short distance from Bydgoszcz, in the opinion of the media, is an air-to-surface missile. Checks are being made to see if the missile was armed. It is also unclear if it detonated because it lacks a warhead. According to the station, the object may have detached, therefore the hunt for it is still ongoing. – They initially believed it to be a drone. Then, according to RMF FM, Russian inscriptions were discovered on it. This location has been ringed by services since Wednesday, and the Military Police are manning the forest entrance. The portal also mentions that a fire department and sappers were visible on the scene.

The incident was covered for the first time by the newspaper “Gazeta Wyborcza.” – Near Zamoste, in the neighborhood of Bydgoszcz, something dropped from the sky. A reader of “GW” reported, “I have information that a missile or a military drone fell into the forest on the outskirts of the village.” One of the locals stated, “A woman riding a horse found this object on Monday.”

Minister of Justice of Poland Zbigniew Ziobro in a post on the social network noted that in addition to the prosecutor’s office, military experts, police, gendarmerie and SKW (Military Counterintelligence Service) representatives are working at the scene.
