Far-right conspiracy theorist Tucker Carlson was kicked out of Fox News

The network has terminated the contract of outspoken, conservative prime-time anchor Tucker Carlson.

The shocking firing of Fox News’ most popular host was announced on Monday without any explanation, but those with knowledge of the situation who were not authorized to speak publicly claimed that Rupert Murdoch, chairman of Fox Corporation, had decided to fire Carlson after consulting with the board and other Fox Corporation executives.

Lachlan Murdoch, executive chairman of Fox Corp., and Suzanne Scott, chief executive of Fox News Media, concluded late Friday that Carlson had to leave, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions.

Carlson’s departure is associated with the discrimination complaint brought by Abby Grossberg, a producer who was let go by the network last month. Insiders claim that Justin Wells, the senior executive producer for Carlson, has also been fired.

Tanvir Rahman, one of Grossberg’s attorneys stated that Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News is because of the systemic lying, bullying and conspiracy-mongering claimed by former top producer Abby Grossberg.

Carlson’s coverage of the protest at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, apparently alarmed Murdoch. The host has promoted the theory that it was launched by government agents, and without offering any evidence, Carlson asserted that Arizonan Ray Epps, who participated in the Capitol storming but did not enter the structure, was an FBI agent.

The odious presenter promoted the rhetoric of the far-right wing of the Republican Party, associated with Trump, regarding the termination of support for Ukraine and the justification of Russia’s aggressive policy. He spread false pro-Russian narratives about the supposed presence of American biolaboratories in Ukraine.

When the threads of two Russian “Nord Streams” exploded in the Baltic Sea, Carlson began to claim that this was not beneficial to Putin in any way, because these were, they say, his gas pipelines. He claimed that Joe Biden allegedly said three weeks before the start of the war that he could “remove” and “blow up” these pipelines, although Biden never said so.

As for Ukraine, the former Fox News host convinced the audience that Putin cannot lose the war, “he will win it.” And Carlson called Ukraine a “fake country”, a “puppet” of the West, managed by the US State Department.
