Russia once again called a meeting of the UN Security Council

According to Russia, the ships which were attacked in the Sevastopol Bay, were supposed to guarantee the security of the “grain corridor” for transporting grain from Ukrainian ports to Turkey.

Based on these claims, Moscow has called again a meeting of the UN Security Council. It will be held today, October 31, 2022. The Secretariat of the Security Council said it is scheduled for the morning (NY time).

Russia in the UN Security Council

The UN Security Council has become a platform for Russia where it spreads false information regarding its war and Ukraine.

For example, the Russian ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that drones were found in Ukraine that was supposed to carry mosquitoes infected with infections. Allegedly, Ukraine is developing biological weapons. According to him, Ukraine is preparing one of the projects to study the possibility of spreading infections through birds and bats.

Earlier it was reported that UN representatives found no evidence of biological weapons in Ukraine or the development of such weapons.

Both Ukraine and the U.S. denied Russia’s claims

“Ukraine has never developed, produced or stored – independently or jointly with anyone – biological or chemical weapons,” Deputy Representative Christina Gajovishin told the Council.

In addition, U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield called the UN Security Council meeting initiated by Russia about the alleged development of biological weapons in Ukraine “a colossal waste of time”.

At the same time, the representative of Albania to the UN said that Russia was loading the UN Security Council with its propaganda statements, none of which turned out to be true.
