A Russian bomber Su-34 was downed by seagulls

In Russia, the investigators came to the conclusion that the cause of the air crash of a military plane in Yeisk, as a result of which 15 people died, was the ingress of seagulls into the engine of the bomber.

Two seagulls got into the engine of the Su-34 bomber, their remains were found during the inspection of the wreckage. This, according to the Russian mass media, was the cause of the plane crash. The birds hit the plane’s engine as it took off.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation did not make statements about the reasons for the downfall of the Su-34.

How the incident happened: in the evening of October 17, a Su-34 bomber crashed near a nine-story building in Yeisk, Russia, which is located not far from occupied Mariupol. The pilots of the plane ejected.

A fire broke out in a residential building. According to the latest data, 15 people died, more than 20 were injured.

Russia faces problems with aircraft serviceability and pilot professionalism after Moscow lost its best military aircraft and dozens of pilots in the war in Ukraine.

On October 23, another Russian war plane crashed into a residential area. A Su-30 fighter plane crashed into a house in Siberia, two pilots were killed.
