Google to allocate €25 million to train Europeans in AI

Google plans to allocate €25 million to train users in Europe to use artificial intelligence (AI), Reuters reports.

The corporation has opened a call for applications for social enterprises and non-profit organizations that can help reach those most likely to benefit from the training.

Google will also conduct a series of trainings to support companies that use artificial intelligence to scale their business.

The company has also expanded its free online AI courses to 18 languages in the EU.

“Research shows that the benefits of AI could exacerbate existing inequalities, especially in terms of economic security and employment. This new program will help people across Europe develop their knowledge, skills and confidence around AI, ensuring that no one is left behind,” said Adrian Brown, executive director of the Centre for Public Impact. The CPI is running the nonprofit schemes for Google.

Earlier, it was reported that Google would introduce a new feature based on generative artificial intelligence in Google Maps, which will help in finding places based on specific user preferences.
