Iran raised the red “flag of revenge”, Saudi Arabia fears Iranian attack

Iran raised the red “flag of revenge”, the last time it happened before its strikes on US bases.

In the holy Iranian city of Qom, a revenge flag was raised over the Jamkaran mosque. A similar flag appeared over a mosque in the city of Shiraz, in southern Iran.

The videos with the flag raising were published on Twitter on November 2. The American media said the day before that Iran could attack Saudi Arabia shortly.

“Flags of revenge” raised in Iran

The American analytical group Open Source Intelligence Monitor reported that the Iranian government raised a “flag of revenge” over the Shah Cherah shrine in the city of Shiraz.

This is a similar flag to the one that was raised a few days before Iran’s missile strike on the US airbase Ayn al-Asad in Iraq, – the group reported.

The American analytical group Open Source Intelligence Monitor recalled the case in 2020 when Iran raised a “flag of revenge” and then struck US bases in Iraq and oil refineries in Saudi Arabia.

This happened after the elimination of one of Iran’s top generals Qasim Soleimani by a US missile strike. Then, raising the “flag of revenge” in Iran wrote: “This was done in honor of Shahid Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by the Americans, thus promising that they would avenge his martyrdom”.

Saudi Arabia fears an attack by Iran

Saudi Arabia believes Iran is preparing to attack it and Iraq “shortly” to divert public attention from anti-government protests.

Saudi officials told their U.S. counterparts, citing their intelligence, that Iran is ready to attack both their kingdom and the Iraqi city of Erbil.

Saudi Arabia and the US have increased the level of combat readiness

It is noted that Saudi Arabia, the United States, and several other neighboring states have increased the level of combat readiness of their armed forces in connection with the intelligence.

And the White House National Security Council confirmed that they are concerned about the information and are ready to respond to an attack from Iran.

Tengrinews.kz, referring to officials, wrote that in response to the warning of the American media, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and neighboring states raised the level of combat readiness of their troops.

In addition, the Canadian media outlet Toronto Star, citing an official who confirmed the intelligence sharing, said there was a probable threat of an attack “soon or within 48 hours.”

However, US embassies or consulates have not warned Americans in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere in the Middle East.

What is known about the possible Iranian attack?

On the evening of November 1, Saudi Arabia said that Iran is preparing to attack it and Iraq “soon”. Through this, the country wants to distract the attention of the population from anti-government protests.

The White House National Security Council said it is concerned about the threat and is in constant contact through military and intelligence channels with the Saudis.

The US assured that they would not hesitate to act to protect their interests and partners in the region.
