Japan donated 430 generators to Ukraine to deal with impact of Kakhovka dam explosion

UNDP has handed over 430 generators purchased with funds from Japan to the Kherson region to address the damage caused by the explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Russian invaders, who controlled the HPP, were accused of blowing up the Kakhovka dam from within.

Thanks to our partners from the United Nations Development Programme and the Government of Japan for their crucial and immediate assistance.

Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure for European Integration Anna Yurchenko

The Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine reported on its Facebook page.

The Ministry says that 430 generators will be donated to the needs of the Kherson region as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam.

We will immediately deliver the generators donated by our partners to the local communities so that they can promptly resume providing basic services to their residents. The sooner we do this, the sooner the conditions will be created for Ukrainians to return to their homes.
