Spain has confiscated the largest marijuana shipment in the world, which is valued at 64 million euros.
The most marijuana ever discovered in Spain or anywhere else in the world, 32 tons of packaged marijuana worth at least 64 million euros have been seized by Spanish police, Reuters reported.
As part of the “Gardens” operation, the police are known to have conducted several raids on farms and manufacturing facilities around Spain, during which nine men and 11 women, ranging in age from 20 to 59, were detained.
The Spanish Civil Guard issued a statement saying, “The Civil Guard captured the largest stockpile of packaged marijuana recorded so far.”
“It was equivalent to about 1.1 million plants,” law enforcement officials added.
Additionally, according to investigators, the gang dried the marijuana plants, packaged them, and sent them to various locations in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and Switzerland.
According to reports, the gang was arrested in Toledo, Ciudad Real, Valencia, and Asturias last month, but information about the operation was not released to the public until Saturday, November 5.
