New France’s next military aid package for Ukraine revealed

The presidents of France and Ukraine recently discussed a new military aid package that France is preparing for Ukraine, sources in the French Defense Ministry told France Info.

According to the publication, Ukraine will receive 128 VAB armored vehicles, 18 Caesar self-propelled howitzers and 24 light tanks from Paris.

According to France Info, France will also provide Ukraine with anti-tank missiles, trucks, and radars.

At the same time, the publication reports that France expects that in September 2024, more than two thousand Ukrainian soldiers will begin training in local training centers.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron the implementation of the Peace Summit decisions, as well as the preparation of the next defense package, security cooperation, and military training.

Prior to that, the French president announced the transfer of several French Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine, as well as the training of 4,500 Ukrainian soldiers as part of a “new cooperation” with Kyiv.

Macron also announced plans to train Ukrainian pilots and mechanics for Mirage 2000-5 fighters on French soil.
