No territorial concessions should be made as part of the Russia-Ukraine peace agreement – UK Prime Minister

Russian and Ukrainian peace talks should not include territorial compromises, according to British Prime Minister Liz Truss. It is reported by The Guardian.

Prime Minister Liz Truss of Great Britain spoke in favor of Ukraine at the Birmingham conference.

“Not just for their own security, but for all of our security, the Ukrainian people are fighting. This is a global battle for democracy and freedom. Putin’s illegitimate acquisition of Ukraine’s territory is just the most recent example in his campaign to undermine democracy and disobey international law “emphasis Truss

The Russian Federation’s actions regarding its “recognition” of Ukrainian areas as its own are illegal, the Prime Minister said, and the peace deal shouldn’t call for territorial compromises.

“We cannot cave in to those who wish to exchange Ukrainian land in a deal. They are willing to exchange Ukrainian lives for the illusion of peace. Regardless of how long it takes, we will support our friends in Ukraine. Ukraine can prevail. Ukraine must prevail. Also, Ukraine will triumph,” Great Britain’s Prime Minister added.
