Poland refutes the fake about sending troops to Ukraine

Poland has refuted the fake spread on social media about the alleged formation of a military corps to be sent to Ukraine.

This was reported in a statement by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.

The command noted that it “strongly” refutes “groundless lies and manipulations” about “the formation of a Polish intervention corps and the beginning of preparations for intervention in Ukraine by the military leadership.”

“In relation to the false information appearing in social media regarding the alleged formation of a Polish intervention corps and the commencement of preparations by the military authorities for the intervention in Ukraine, we strongly deny these unjustified lies and manipulations.”

The Polish military emphasized that the letter, which is being circulated as evidence of troops being sent to Ukraine, contains information about a group of several members of the Polish Armed Forces who are being sent there to perform a number of tasks.

These tasks include, among others, protecting the Polish embassy and military attaché, guarding visits by government representatives, and serving as liaison officers. This procedure is standard, the command assured.

“The publication of such documents by persons who are not authorized to do so and the dissemination of false information is not only irresponsible but also extremely harmful to the security of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the entire state,” the statement said.

It states that such fakes “are fertile ground for Russian propaganda centers and Internet trolls, who actively use fake narratives to split society and undermine Poland’s authority in the international arena.”

“Such actions are part of an information war aimed at weakening our country from within, and they should be treated with the utmost seriousness,” the command summarized.

It was reported that Poland has also seen a recent increase in disinformation related to the presidential election.
