Polish government records aggressive propaganda activities of Belarus and Russia

The Government Commissioner for the Security of the Information Space of the Republic of Poland, Stanisław Żaryn, said that the Belarusian propaganda apparatus has intensified aggressive information activities aimed at Poland.

According to Stanisław Żaryn, propaganda activities complement the operation to destabilise Poland’s border through artificially stimulated migration pressure, Polish Radio reported.

Stanisław Żaryn noted that Russian propaganda centres continue to comment widely on the post-election situation in Poland. Currently, the narrative that the Polish state will continue to be riddled with Russophobia is coming to the forefront. At the same time, Russia’s message is harmful to Poland and society.

The Polish official noted that both the intensification of the operation accusing Poland of crimes against illegal migrants and the sharp increase in the narrative of “Polish Russophobia” can be seen as a form of pressure on the future government.

The emphasis will also be on changing Warsaw’s approach to threats from the east. Influence apparatuses of both regimes point out the “rightness” of the demands to reduce the number of Polish army personnel.

In early October, Stanisław Żaryn said that Russia continues to promote a false image of Poland as a threat to the Kaliningrad region.

He also noted that “the Belarusian propaganda apparatus, with the help of the media controlled by the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Belarus, recently carried out an information provocation based on the false claim that a Polish helicopter had violated Belarusian airspace”.

Poland is one of the biggest supporters of Ukraine to help the country defend itself from Russian military invasion.
