According to US President Joe Biden, internal conflicts in Russia make Russia’s deployment of nuclear weapons the biggest concern since the Cuban Missile Crisis, Reuters reported.
According to the report, “Russian military leadership saw a rare backlash from the domestic population over the war in Ukraine. The US President Joe Biden claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s threat to deploy nuclear weapons is the largest threat since the Cuban Missile Crisis.”
Since its armed forces would suffer severe losses, Biden underscored that the Russian president “is not joking when he warns about the potential use of tactical nuclear weapons, biological weapons, or chemical weapons.”
We haven’t faced the danger of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis, Biden added, “but for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis, we have a direct threat of nuclear weapons if things actually go the way they’re going.”
Because of Soviet missiles in Cuba, the Soviet Union, led by Mykyta Khrushchev, and the United States, under President John F. Kennedy, nearly used nuclear weapons during the 1962 crisis.
Biden stated, “I don’t think there is such a thing as being able to readily (use, – ed) tactical nuclear weapons and not end up with Armageddon.
