On Wednesday, February 1, the Russian armed forces attacked Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. The attack resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.
The Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office reported that 2 people died under the rubble of the destroyed building, and 21 others were injured with varying degrees of severity.
Rescuers and law enforcement are working at the scene. The rubble is still being dismantled, so the exact number of victims is being determined.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has commented on the missile strike.
“A residential building, a rocket attack. Civilians have been killed and are trapped in the rubble. This is not a repeat of history, it is the daily reality of our country. A country that borders on absolute evil. And which must overcome it to reduce to zero the likelihood of such tragedies happening again.”
