Slovakia provides Ukraine with 16 more howitzers Zuzana 2

Slovakia will shortly provide Ukraine with 16 self-propelled artillery systems Zuzana 2.

Slovak President Zuzana Caputova stated this after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Bratislava.

Slovakia and Ukraine also agreed to develop a new type of howitzers jointly and start joint production of ammunition.

“We have managed to sign a contract for the supply of 16 Zuzans to Ukraine, which will happen shortly. We will jointly develop a new type of howitzers. We will start joint production of ammunition”.

Zuzana Caputova, Slovak President

Previously, Slovakia supplied Ukraine with 8 self-propelled howitzers Zuzana 2. Slovakia, Germany, Denmark and Norway signed an agreement to deliver 16 more artillery systems.

Zuzana 2 is a Slovak 52-calibre self-propelled howitzer that uses NATO-standard 155 mm shells. Zuzana 2 howitzer can accurately hit targets at a range of 41 km. The automatic loading system allows for 6 shots per minute.

Slovak-made howitzers will enhance Ukrainian Army capabilities and help Ukraine to free its territories from Russian occupation.
