The G7 leaders promised to prosecute Putin

The Group of Seven (G7) leaders made a joint statement at a conference meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. 

The G7 leaders condemned the Russian army’s attacks on Ukraine and Russia’s “irresponsible nuclear rhetoric” that violates global peace. And they also promised to bring to justice the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and all involved with him.

“We, the leaders of the Group of Seven, convened today with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Our meeting took place against the backdrop of the most recent missile attacks against civilian infrastructure and cities across Ukraine, leading to the death of innocent civilians.

We condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms and recall that indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilian populations constitute a war crime. We will hold President Putin and those responsible to account.”

Meeting between G7 and Ukraine

The G7 leaders announced they would continue to impose sanctions on Russia and recalled the consequences of Putin’s nuclear threats.

“We condemn Russia’s deliberate escalating steps, including partial mobilization of reservists and irresponsible nuclear rhetoric, which endangers global peace and security. We confirm that any chemical, biological or nuclear weapons use by Russia will lead to serious consequences,” the statement reads.

In addition, the G7 called on the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, “to stop allowing the Russian armed forces to use Belarusian territory and to support the Russian military.”

“The announcement of the creation of a joint military group with Russia is an example of the Belarusian regime’s complicity with Russia,” the G7 leaders said.

They added that they would help Ukraine prepare for winter by providing financial, humanitarian, military, diplomatic, and legal support.

Ukraine with Europe seeks to establish world peace

After the conversation, the President’s Office noted that the actions of the Russians are a challenge not only for Ukraine but also for the whole world.

“The actions of Russian barbarians challenge the entire civilized world. Therefore, we must be united in the fight against this evil,” wrote the head of Ukraine’s President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.
On October 11, an online meeting took place between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the leaders of the G7 countries. During the event, Zelensky announced his three-point “peace formula” to help overcome the Russian threat.
