The US officially approved Abrams tanks delivery to Ukraine in September

The US has officially approved the first batch of Abrams tanks for shipment to Ukraine. The US tanks are due to arrive in Ukraine in September.

The US sends M1A1 Abrams with ammunition, spare parts, fuel equipment and repair facilities. The Ukrainian Army is expected to receive 31 Abrams tanks, according to CNN.

In August, the United States completes training 200 Ukrainian military on Abrams tanks in Germany which started in May.

In September, we can expect to see Abrams tanks with trained crews on the frontline to counter Russian invading troops. The US-made Abrams tanks thanks to their technical capabilities will help Ukrainians to push back Russian forces from the occupied territories.

Abrams is one of the heaviest tanks in service at nearly 63 short tons, with sophisticated Chobham composite armour and computer fire control system.

Abrams is powered by a 120 mm gun. It can destroy other tanks at a range of 3 km; the maximum range of its main gun is 5km. It has an operational range of 426 km and a 72 km per hour top road speed.
