Trump promised to be a peacemaker, but did not mention Ukraine

In his inauguration speech on Monday, January 20, the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, promised to help build a strong American army and fight wars in the world.

In his inauguration speech, Trump promised to build “the strongest military the world has ever seen.”

“We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars we end, and perhaps most importantly, by the wars we never enter,” he emphasized.

The US President emphasized that he seeks to be a “peacemaker and unifier,” and under his presidency, the United States will return to its “rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth.”

Speaking of foreign policy, Trump promised to regain control of the Panama Canal, which is “exploited by China,” and to rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.

Notably, Trump did not mention his intentions to seize Greenland or turn Canada into the “51st American state,” nor did he mention Ukraine or a full-scale Russian invasion. Earlier, Trump promised to end the war between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours.

In his inauguration speech, the new US president also announced the beginning of America’s “golden age.” We still have to wait and see what this will mean.

Donald Trump became the second American president in history to serve two consecutive terms in office. In addition, by the end of his second term, he will be 82 years old, making him the oldest U.S. president in history.

The arrival of Donald Trump in Ukraine is indeed associated with expectations of a war’s end. However, no one has yet named ways and effective mechanisms for achieving this goal and forcing Russia to stop the invasion and its attacks.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Donald Trump on his return to the US presidency.

In his statement, Zelenskyy noted Trump’s determination and emphasized that his “peace through strength” policy “provides an opportunity to strengthen American leadership and achieve a lasting and just peace.”

“This century is being shaped right now, and we all have to work together to make it a great and successful century for democratic countries, not for those who want us to fail,” Ukraine’s president emphasized.

Zelenskyy wished Trump success and expressed hope “for active and mutually beneficial cooperation.”

The coming weeks will show whether Trump and his team have a plan to force Russia to end the war in Ukraine.
