US political figure of Russian descent claims Pentagon’s readiness for Russia’s collapse

The Pentagon has a plan for all eventualities. Retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, the former commander of the US Army in Europe, said that it is necessary to plan for Russia’s collapse. But if the West was not ready for the collapse of the USSR in 1991, then it must be prepared for the next time.

This was stated by Yuri Rashkin, a US public and political figure, a deputy from Rock District in Wisconsin, in an interview with Ukrainian media outlet Channel 24. 

He noted that Vladimir Putin is afraid of a collapse. “We are waiting for him because Vladimir Putin has been getting what he doesn’t want time and time again. He works hard to achieve the opposite result. Look at NATO expansion,” Rashkin said.

“Regime change would be great if Russia were a democracy and had a new president every few years. However, it is a country where power has been seized by the security services, which have been “successfully” controlling the passive population of those territories. But it can sometimes rebel, so the aggressor country always has options for changing the government.”

“Prygozhyn is only the first shot in an election race or change of government. Now various generals and colonels will resign because the ‘purges’ are ongoing. There is a lot of turbulence in Russia today, which could lead to a collapse,” – said the US public and political figure.

“If the Russian dictator thinks his power is over, he may use nuclear weapons. And he will not care where he strikes – he can even hit Voronezh”, he said.

What possible outcomes of Russia’s collapse?

The aggressor state, which waged a disastrous and unprovoked war against Ukraine, may lose territories, as some republics may want to secede from the Russian Federation in the future. 

According to the initiative Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum, the peoples of the Caucasus, Siberia, the Urals, the Kuban, the Ukrainian Green Wedge, Bashkiria, Yakutia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, and others have every right to self-determination. They also have the right to secede from the aggressor country and form sovereign and independent states, the leaders in exile claimed.

A failed rebellion by the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, will weaken Russia, according to the expert. The failed coup has triggered chaotic processes, and their consequences will be felt in the future. According to military expert Oleg Zhdanov, such coup attempts may be repeated for some time.

Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov is convinced that Russian society has split into several parts. According to Budanov, a civil war may soon break out in Russia.

Yuri Rashkin is a member of the Rock County Assembly in Wisconsin and is known in the Russian-speaking diaspora for his Russian-language hosts, particularly the political programmes Rashkin Report and Our America.

He also hosts programmes about Russia on American radio in English and, for many, acts as a kind of bridge between the “American heartland” and distant Russia.
