Poland’s Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) has identified two people who have already been arrested for three months by court order.
One of the suspects in spying for Russia was detained on March 21.
The foreigner is suspected of conducting special intelligence activities in favor of the Russian special services.
“The investigation materials show that he collected information, in particular, on critical infrastructure in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeships, as well as on the activities of services and bodies responsible for security. The man passed the information to Russian services,” the statement said.
It is claimed that during the investigation, the suspect admitted the charges and provided details of his actions, as well as the circumstances of his recruitment by Russian intelligence, for whom he had been working since at least January this year.
In addition, on March 1, based on counterintelligence information, another foreigner who worked for the Belarusian special services was detained in Poland.
It was revealed that the suspect had been conducting reconnaissance of important facilities, including those related to the Polish Armed Forces.
The court in Lublin ruled on a temporary arrest for three months.
