Putin formally annexes invaded Ukrainian territories

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, signed criminal laws on October 5 supposedly incorporating Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson into Russia. The Russian Federation’s official online information resource reports.

The so-called DPR and LPR, as well as the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson areas, are up for approval of “treaties” on accession and federal constitutional provisions on “admission as subjects of the Russian Federation.”

Putin has also appointed Denis Pushylin as so-called “Acting Chairman of the DPR”, Leonid Pasichnyk – so-called “Acting Chairman of the LPR”, Volodymyr Saldo – so-called “Acting Governor of Kherson region”, and Yevhen Balytskyi – so-called “Acting Governor of Zaporizhzhia region”.

Putin’s decree has no validity according to international law, and the democratic world doesn’t recognize the illegal annexation of the Ukrainian territories .
