Russia announces the retreat of soldiers from the right bank of the Dnipro River

Sergei Surovikin, the commander of Russian soldiers in Ukraine, claimed that the Russian army is being pushed to depart Kherson. This was the sole regional center it has taken since the start of the full-fledged invasion of Ukraine

Surovikin communicated (Ukraine language) his departure plans to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday, November 9.

Earlier, Kyrylo Budanov, the chief of Ukrainian military intelligence, stated that the Armed Forces will retake Kherson by the end of this month.

In recent days, Russian and Ukrainian military commanders reported a significant intensification of the Ukrainian offensive in the Kherson region.

Surovikin told Minister Shoigu during the briefing that the Russian group on the right bank of the Kherson area is repelling Ukrainian strikes and inflicting high losses on the enemy. According to reports, Ukrainian losses are seven times greater than Russian losses.

The Russian general, however, emphasized that Kherson and its surrounding communities “cannot be properly supplied and function.”

Furthermore, the commander believes that the “Kyiv government” may strike the Kakhovka hydroelectric power facility, destroying the reservoir’s dam and causing civilian fatalities. It will also result in the full isolation of the Russian contingent on the Dnipro’s right bank.

In such cases, the General emphasized, “It is best to arrange defense on the Dnipro River’s left bank. Keeping the group on the right bank is pointless “.

As a result of his statement, Surovikin requested that soldiers evacuate from Kherson.

The Russian Defense Minister approved. “Proceed with troop withdrawal,” he ordered.

This “tactic” will be carried out as quickly as possible, according to the commander of the Russian military.

In addition, he believes that the released troops can be effectively used in other areas on the battlefield.

“The choice to defend the left bank of the Dnipro is not an easy one,” Surovikin said. “At the same time, we will protect the lives of our military and the fighting potential of the troops.”
