This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Nicu Popescu at a meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers. He stressed that the presence of Russians in Transnistria violates the neutral status of Moldova.

Mr. Popescu also expressed his support for neighboring Ukraine. “Spoke to Josep Borrell (ed.: High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy) in Łódź about the regional security situation & ongoing tensions, acute energy crisis, and blackouts in Moldova as a result of Russia’s continued strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure,” Nicu Popescu tweeted.

Moldova asks to liquidate Russian ammunition depot

“The illegal presence of the Russian armed forces violates Moldova’s sovereignty and neutral status. We strongly call for the complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Russian military from the territory of Moldova, in line with the commitments made by Russia in 1999 at the OSCE Summit in Istanbul”, – Popescu said.

The Moldovan deputy prime minister urged attention to the ammunition depot near Covasna. According to Mr. Popescu, this warehouse threatens the entire region and must be liquidated through proper internationally recognized procedures.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed creating diplomatic platforms for the liberation of the occupied territories worldwide. In particular, he mentioned Transnistria and Abkhazia.
