The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service has complained that Serbian defense companies continue to supply ammunition to Kyiv, contrary to Belgrade’s declared neutrality.
The Russian propaganda agency RIA Novosti reported on this development.
The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service stated that Serbian companies are selling ammunition using a scheme involving fake end-user certificates and intermediary countries.
These countries are most often NATO states, primarily the Czech Republic, Poland, and Bulgaria. African countries are also involved.
The contribution of Serbian companies is estimated at hundreds of thousands of shells for MLRS and howitzers, as well as a million rounds of ammunition for small arms.
Russian intelligence claims that the largest companies in the Serbian defense industry are involved in the scheme, including Yugoimport SDPR, Zenitprom, Krusik, Sofag, Reyer DTI, Sloboda, Prvi Partizan, and others.
Last summer, the FT reported that Ukraine had received €800 million worth of Serbian ammunition since 2022.
At the same time, the Serbian authorities stated that Serbia is not a party to the war in Ukraine, although it sells its shells to Western countries, which may transfer them to Kyiv.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that he was not opposed to his country selling ammunition to intermediaries who send it to Ukraine.
