A leading critic of Chechen leader Razman Kadyrov and part-time well-known blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov was found dead in Sweden. The man did not make contact for several days, after which it became known that he was shot on the night of December 2.
As of Monday, December 5, citing Abdurakhmanov’s associates, the law enforcement agencies still refuse to make official comments about the murder. At the same time, a few days earlier, representatives of the human rights association VAYFOND, which is engaged in providing assistance to refugees from Chechnya in Sweden, reported in their Telegram channel about the disappearance of 36-year-old Abdurakhmanov, as well as his brother.
It is worth adding that in 2015, Tumso Abdurakhmanov left Chechnya, because he had a serious conflict with Ramzan Kadyrov. The blogger published frank content in which he talked about abuse of power and violation of human rights.
Having settled in Sweden, Abdurakhmanov received the status of a political refugee.
Meanwhile, in Chechnya, the blogger is accused of ties to the Islamic State, and a few years earlier, the speaker of the state parliament, Magomed Daudov, publicly declared that he was ready to take revenge on Abdurakhmanov.
Later, in 2020, the blogger was attacked in his own apartment, but Abdurakhmanov still managed to escape from the attacker and call the police. Later, the court sentenced the man who committed the attack to ten years in prison.
