Three Ukrainian manufacturers will receive $1 million each to implement technological developments to help to shoot down Iranian-made Sahed combat drones used by Russians to attack Ukrainian cities.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation’s press service reported.
“In war, it is important to understand what is happening on the battlefield and offer technological solutions,” the statement said.
The statement emphasises that it is crucial to create alternative systems to counter the Iranian-made Shahed drones.
We had cool cases with the Army of Drones when we supplied foreign drones and domestically produced UAVs to the frontline. We need to do the same with developing systems to protect Ukrainian skies.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation
New technologies will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces fight Iranian kamikaze drones without wasting more powerful resources of air defences, which are leveraged primarily to shoot down Russian cruise missiles.
