Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the world, particularly the United States and the European Union, to demonstrate a tough response after Russia’s ballistic missile strike on Sumy on Sunday, April 13. Zelensky wrote about this on his Telegram channel on Sunday.
The President of Ukraine stated that after the Russian ballistic missile strike on an ordinary city street in Sumy, dozens of civilians were killed and wounded.
“Only bastards can act like this. Taking lives of ordinary people. My condolences to the families and friends. The rescue operation is underway. All the necessary services are working. We need a strong response from the world. The United States, Europe, and everyone in the world who wants this war and killings to end,” the Ukrainian president called.
Zelenskyy: Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and bombs
The President of Ukraine emphasized that Russia wants exactly this kind of terror and is prolonging this war.
“Peace is impossible without pressure on the aggressor. Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and bombs. We need to treat Russia as a terrorist deserves. I thank everyone who is with Ukraine and helps us protect lives,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
More than twenty civilians were killed in a Russian missile strike on the morning of April 13 in the center of Sumy, according to acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
Tusk: Russia’s version of a ceasefire is a bloody Palm Sunday
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has reacted to Russia’s bloody shelling of the city of Sumy, making it clear that Russia is not really seeking a ceasefire. Tusk wrote about this on Sunday on the social network X.
Tusk published a short message in English that reads as follows: “Russia’s version of a truce. Bloody Palm Sunday, Sumy, Ukraine.”
Earlier on Sunday, during a speech in Warsaw, Tusk said that the deaths of Ukrainians in Sumy on Sunday were caused by “the same evil that now threatens Poland and the whole of Europe.”
A Russian missile strike on the morning of April 13 in the center of Sumy killed at least 32 people, including two children. More than 80 people were injured.
After the Russian missile strike on Sumy, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said that only force can make Russia stop its war of aggression.
US Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg said that the attack by Russian troops on civilian targets in Sumy crosses the line of acceptability and shows why Donald Trump wants to stop the war.
