Finland’s resident Sauli Niinistö has approved a new military aid package for Ukraine, which includes air defence systems and ammunition, based on the government’s proposal.
The Finish Ministry of Defence said this in a statement.
It is reported that the 17th shipment of defence aid from Finland to Ukraine includes, among other things, more anti-aircraft weapons and ammunition. The value of the package is estimated at 105 million euros. The value of all the defence equipment packages provided by Finland to Ukraine is now around €1.2 billion.
“We will continue to support Ukraine together with our allies. The war’s outcome will determine the security order of Europe and Finland for decades, so supporting Ukraine is also an integral part of Finland’s security”.

The Ministry of Defence clarified that for the sake of safe delivery, the contents of the cargo, the method of transfer and the timing will not be disclosed.
In May, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Finland to discuss increased support ahead of the Ukrainian army’s counter-offensive against Russian invading troops in the south and east of Ukraine.
