Beijing defense contractor shipped at least 12 cargoes to Russian sanctioned company.
In 2022, China supplied parts for Russian military helicopters to a company from the Russian Federation that is on the US sanctions list for its involvement in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by CNN.
The journalists obtained customs documents showing that over the past year, Beijing-based defence contractor Poly Technologies sent at least 12 shipments, including helicopter parts and air-to-ground radio equipment, to a Russian firm that the US has sanctioned for its involvement in the war against Ukraine.
It is noted that most of the Chinese helicopter parts were marked for use in the Mi-171E multi-purpose helicopter. Three shipments were also marked as parts for the Russian Mi-171S, a military transport helicopter that can be equipped with weapons and was used in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
