Germany delivers to Ukraine air defence radar and more military equipment

Germany reported on another batch of military aid handed over to Ukraine, including a TRML-4D air surveillance radar.

In addition to the TRML-4D, Ukraine received three Biber bridge paving machines, a mobile demining system, two border guard vehicles, and 16 Zetros trucks from Germany. It was reported on the German government’s website.

Ukraine received its first TRML-4D air surveillance radar from Germany in May.

The TRML-4D uses the latest AESA radar technology capable of detecting, tracking and classifying various types of airborne targets, focusing on small, fast and low-flying and/or manoeuvrable cruise missiles and aircraft, as well as hovering helicopters.

The system provides rapid detection and tracking of about 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 kilometres.

Air defence radar helps Ukraine to quickly and precisely detect Russian missiles and drones used by Moscow troops to bombard Ukrainian cities.

Last week, Germany handed over a batch of military aid to Ukraine, including high-precision guided munitions.
