Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban reminded his supporters that he opposes Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. He called on Hungarians to block Ukraine’s accession to the EU in his post on Facebook.
In his post, the Hungarian Prime Minister said that Ukraine’s accession to the EU “puts at risk everything we have achieved so far,” without specifying what achievements he was referring to.
“We will not let them disrespect Hungarians! Vote!” Orban added, advertising the so-called “consultations” on this topic that are underway in Hungary.
In April, Hungarians began to receive ballots for a “national consultation” on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union, directly urging them to vote against it.
The initiator of the consultations, Viktor Orban, publicly boasted of his vote “against” Ukraine’s future European integration.
In a propaganda campaign, the Hungarian government is intimidating Hungarians that they may lose their jobs due to the influx of migrants from Ukraine.
