Ukraine’s official membership application has been accepted by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and will now be further evaluated by all Alliance member nations. Ihor Zhovkva, the Deputy Head of the President’s Office, made this announcement, Espreso TV reported.
“According to the outcomes of the NSDC conference, Ukraine’s president, prime minister, and chairman of the Verkhovna Rada addressed a request to the North Atlantic Organization regarding Ukraine’s membership application.
The application was formally sent to the Secretary General today via a note from Ukraine, and the next step is for this application to be discussed at the level of the North Atlantic Council, or among the ambassadors of NATO member states in Brussels “said Zhovkva.
Ukraine’s application will eventually be discussed with every NATO member state.
